3. Data Sharing & Conservation Research

WaterfowlAI shares anonymized, aggregated field data with wildlife agencies and research partners including universities and conservation organizations. This data helps support waterfowl population monitoring, habitat management, and species conservation efforts.

We never sell your personal information. Individual-level data is only shared in the following circumstances:

GPS data is collected only when you actively log a hunt and have granted location permissions. Location data is used to associate hunts with geographic zones and is anonymized before being shared with research partners. You can disable location services at any time through your device settings.

5. Photo & Image Data

Wing photos and bird images submitted through WingID are processed by our AI models for species identification. These images may be used to improve our identification models. Images are stored securely and are never shared publicly or sold to third parties.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our Services. Hunt log data and associated records are retained to maintain your historical records and to support long-term conservation research. You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, secure cloud infrastructure, and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
